About Oakville
Oakville is a residential suburb of the City of Hawkesbury in New South Wales, located 49 kilometres northwest of the Sydney central business district. Adjacent to Scheyville National Park and near the Killarney Chain of Ponds, the suburb is home to Arndell Anglican College and Oakville Public School. The suburb gained fame as the filming location for the long-running Channel 7 television series A Country Practice which aired from 1981 to 1994, with Clare House on Clare Crescent used as the Wandin Valley Bush Nursing Hospital. Oakville is bordered by Pitt Town Bottoms, Pitt Town, Scheyville, McGraths Hill, Gables, Vineyard, Riverstone and Box Hill.
