About Gables
Gables is a suburb of Sydney in The Hills Shire, New South Wales, Australia, located 52 kilometres northwest of the Sydney central business district. The area was originally the site of a large dairy farm established by Robert Hurrell, which was divided into two sections known as Red Gables and Blue Gables due to its size. The suburb takes its name from these historic properties. Gazetted on 17 July 2020, Gables was carved primarily from the former suburb of Box Hill and a smaller portion from Maraylya. It is a master-planned residential community developed by Stockland, featuring over 70 hectares of parks, walking trails, and the Stockland Gables Town Centre. Gables lies on the gently undulating Cumberland Plain at an elevation of 42 metres and forms part of Sydney's North West Growth Area.
