About Tolwong
Tolwong is a steep, rugged bushland locality on the Shoalhaven River gorge west of Nowra in New South Wales, about 10 km east of Bungonia. It is the site of the historic Tolwong copper-tin-arsenic mines, discovered around 1904, where ore was lowered by aerial tramways into the gorge to a smelting plant whose ruins remain on the Tolwong Mines Trail.
