About Bungonia

Bungonia is a village in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, in Goulburn Mulwaree, about 28 km south-east of Goulburn. Originally called Inverary, it was renamed in 1836. The town stopped growing when the Great South Road, now the Hume Highway, bypassed it. The nearby Bungonia National Park protects a limestone karst landscape of gorges and caves that is popular for caving, abseiling and canyoning.
