About Terara
Terara is a small rural locality on the southern bank of the Shoalhaven River, approximately 3 kilometres north-east of Nowra in the City of Shoalhaven. It was the first settlement established on the south side of the river, but severe flooding in the 1860s and 1870s caused the township to shift west to where Nowra now stands.
