About Yerong Creek
Yerong Creek is a town in the Riverina of southern New South Wales, about 46 kilometres south-west of Wagga Wagga on the Olympic Highway. The district is predominantly mixed farming and grazing country, with grain silos beside the Main Southern Railway line. In 1993 an XPT train set the Australian rail speed record of 193 kilometres per hour on the line near the town. Yerong Creek Post Office opened in 1882.
