About Henty (NSW)

Henty is a town in south-western New South Wales, roughly midway between Albury and Wagga Wagga on the Olympic Highway. Originally known as Doodle Cooma, it was renamed for the Henty family in the 1880s. In 1914 local farmer Headlie Taylor invented the header harvester here, a machine that revolutionised grain harvesting worldwide. The town hosts the Henty Machinery Field Days each September, one of the largest agricultural field days in southern Australia.
