About Maxwell
Maxwell is a rural farming locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, situated on the Murrumbidgee plains approximately 20 kilometres south-west of Wagga Wagga. The thinly settled area supports sheep and cattle grazing, cereal cropping and mixed farming on broad-acre properties, with the nearby Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute, established in 1892 as the first NSW Government Experimental Farm, contributing to the region's agricultural research.
