About Whian Whian
Whian Whian is a small rural hinterland locality in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, about 25 kilometres north of Lismore in the Lismore local government area. It is sparsely settled and borders Nightcap National Park and the Whian Whian State Conservation Area, which protects remnants of the ancient Big Scrub subtropical rainforest. The name is drawn from the local Bundjalung language, meaning a large tree with a number of spurs.
