About Dorroughby

Dorroughby is a locality in the Northern Rivers hinterland of New South Wales, about 24 kilometres north-east of Lismore on the edge of Nightcap National Park. The European name is said to come from a Bundjalung word, durraba or dalagar, meaning soft mud, and the area is on the traditional country of the Widjabul and Wia-bal peoples. It is home to the Dorroughby Environmental Education Centre, established in 1977.
