About Afterlee

Afterlee is a village in the Kyogle Council area of the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, about 24 km west of Kyogle. Formerly known as the Cob-of-Corn district, it was once a small dairy village with a store, butchers, post office, school and community hall, until the local dairy industry collapsed in the 1960s. The old schoolhouse survives, and the site is now being redeveloped as the cooperative Afterlee Ecovillage.
