About Maryland (Newcastle - NSW)
Maryland is a family-friendly residential suburb about 14 km west-northwest of Newcastle's CBD in the City of Newcastle. Originally settled as agricultural land worked by convict labour, the suburb features two public schools, a private school, a shopping complex, a Baptist church and a skate park, with an outlook of nearby wetlands.
