About Woodsreef
Woodsreef is a remote rural locality in the New England hinterland of New South Wales, situated approximately 440 kilometres north of Sydney in the Gwydir Shire. The locality is known for the former Woodsreef Asbestos Mine, one of the largest chrysotile mining operations in Australia before its closure in the 1980s. Bingara is the nearest town.
