About Weemelah

Weemelah is a small village in Moree Plains Shire, on the black soil plains of far north-west New South Wales, near the Queensland border. Its railway station, opened in 1914 as Bunarba and renamed in 1926, served the village on the Mungindi line until passenger trains ceased in 1974. The village, with its hall and CWA, serves a cotton and grain-growing district.
