About Oban
Oban is a small rural locality in the Armidale Regional council area on the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales, about 20 kilometres from the town of Guyra. The Oban River rises below Mount Duncan near Little Llangothlin Lake and flows north-east through the locality on its 47-kilometre course to join the Sara River in Guy Fawkes River National Park, as part of the Clarence River catchment. The locality's few residents are spread through the sparsely settled gullies and tableland country drained by the river and its tributaries.
