About Bendemeer
Bendemeer is a village on the Macdonald River in the New England region of New South Wales, at the junction of the New England and Oxley Highways. It is principally a business hub for local sheep and cattle graziers and hosts arts festivals, craft markets and a triennial Tractor Muster. In 1864 the bushranger Captain Thunderbolt carried out one of his first armed robberies on the northern mail as it passed through Bendemeer.
