About Cookardinia
Cookardinia is a rural locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, 57 kilometres south of Wagga Wagga and 24 kilometres east of Henty. It grew around the Cookardinia pastoral run, taken up in 1843 by John Post, whose roadside inn on the road between Albury and Wagga Wagga served travellers from the 1860s. The ruins of the old Squatters Arms Inn, built in 1848 and closed in 1925, remain, along with the Buckaringa woolshed and the Memorial Hall built in 1925.
