About Brocklesby

Brocklesby is a small town in the Riverina region of south-west New South Wales, in the Greater Hume Shire 45 kilometres north-west of Albury. Its main claim to fame is a remarkable incident in September 1940, when two RAAF Avro Anson training aircraft collided in mid-air and became locked together; the pilot of the upper aircraft guided the pair to a safe emergency landing in a paddock, and all four crewmen survived. The town has a primary school, recreation reserve, public hall and a community-owned hotel.
