About Euroka

Euroka is a rural locality in the Kempsey Shire on the Mid North Coast, about 15 to 20 kilometres from Kempsey. The site of the first European settlement in the Macleay Valley in 1827, when a cedar party camped on the Macleay River banks, the area was early timber getters' country before being subdivided into maize and dairy farms. The river valleys, cleared farming land and coastal eucalypt forest characterise the landscape.
