About Stanwell Tops
Stanwell Tops is a small exurban locality perched on the Illawarra escarpment between Sydney and Wollongong in New South Wales, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the neighbouring village of Stanwell Park. The area originated as a private parcel owned by developer Henry Ferdinand Halloran and operated as the Stanwell Tops Pleasure Park during the 1930s and 1940s before being subdivided into the residential community that exists today. The Princess Marina Cliff Walk, established by Halloran, winds through the surrounding bushlands and the locality is bounded by state forest reserves contiguous with the Royal National Park.
