About Maddens Plains
Maddens Plains is a largely unpopulated locality on the Illawarra escarpment in New South Wales, on the high plateau between Thirroul and Stanwell Park within the City of Wollongong. The headwaters of the Georges River rise on the plateau, which has long been recognised for the quality and volume of its water supply. The top of the escarpment here, dotted with telecommunications towers, looks down over coastal villages from Scarborough towards the Royal National Park.
