About Rixs Creek

Rixs Creek is a locality in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, about 5 km north-west of Singleton. The area was the site of one of the earliest coal mines in the Singleton district, established around 1860. At its peak the settlement had hotels, stores, a church and a brass band. The Rixs Creek coal mine continues to operate today.
