About Ravensworth (NSW)
Ravensworth is a small town in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, about 19 kilometres north of Singleton. It is home to an open-cut coal mine that supplies coal for domestic power generation, and to the historic Ravensworth House, built in 1840. The area was among the first settled in the Hunter, with one of the district's earliest land grants made to James Bowman in the early 1820s.
