About Bulga (NSW)
Bulga is a village in the Singleton Council area of the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, about 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton. Its name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'mountain' or 'isolated hill'. Long a farming district, the locality is now bordered by the large open-cut mines of the Bulga coal complex.
