About Packsaddle

Packsaddle is a remote township and civil parish in the Far West Region of New South Wales, where the Silver City Highway crosses Packsaddle Creek. The name is said to have been given by the Burke and Wills expedition, which reportedly lost a packsaddle while crossing the creek. The surrounding country, once held by Goldsbrough Mort & Co. and later by pastoralist Sidney Kidman, is now part of the unincorporated Far West Region.
