About Neville
Neville is a small village in the central tablelands of New South Wales, about 60 kilometres south-west of Bathurst, at an elevation of about 940 metres. Settled soon after the founding of Bathurst in 1815, the village was known as Number One Swamp and later Mount Macquarie before being renamed Neville in 1888. It was once a stagecoach stop on the old Rockley-to-Cowra road. The village retains its school built in 1858, several late nineteenth-century churches, a public hall from 1890 and a hotel from 1929, and the former Valley Store now houses the Golden Era Piano Museum.
