About Dargan

Dargan is a small village in the Central West of New South Wales, in the City of Lithgow, on the western edge of the Blue Mountains at an elevation of over 1,000 metres. It takes its name from Dargans Creek, named for Thomas Dargan, an early explorer and drover who took up land there in the 1830s. Dargans Creek also gave its name to a major railway deviation built in 1897.
