About Stonequarry
Stonequarry is a rural locality in the Capital Region of New South Wales, located about 45 kilometres from Canberra in the Southern Tablelands near Goulburn. The name derives from stone quarrying history in the Goulburn district, where a notable quarry operated by convict-turned-businessman Juan Mariano Munoz on Church Hill provided foundation stone for St Saviour's Parish Church and other major Goulburn buildings. The area features open undulating pastoral country typical of the Southern Tablelands, with grazing on sheep and cattle on land near the Great Dividing Range and the Wollondilly and Mulwaree Rivers.
