About Rocky Plain (NSW)
Rocky Plain is a sparsely settled rural locality in the Monaro high country of southern New South Wales, on the Eucumbene Road in open sub-alpine grassland used for sheep and cattle grazing. A slab-and-shingle school built by local residents in 1883, when the nearest school was 15 miles away at Adaminaby, served the district in various forms until 1969; restored in 2008, the building now serves as a community hall.
