About Kalkite
Kalkite is a small locality in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area, situated approximately 88 kilometres southeast of Canberra on the eastern shores of Lake Jindabyne. At roughly 900 metres elevation, the area experiences cold winters and cool summers, with snow gums and alpine grassland characteristic of the Monaro high country.
