About Mummel

Mummel is a rural locality in the Goulburn Mulwaree Council area of the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, about 23 km northwest of Goulburn and 110 km northeast of Canberra. The district formed part of the early colonial settlement of the Goulburn Plains in the 1820s, when the Mummel estate was granted to grazier John Dickson, and it later supported several small schools between 1868 and 1959.
