About Limerick
Limerick is a locality in the Upper Lachlan Shire of New South Wales, in the Southern Tablelands about 122 kilometres north of Canberra. Cooks Vale Creek rises in the south of the locality and flows north to join the Abercrombie River east of the mining town of Tuena, with Peelwood Road linking Limerick to Tuena in the north and Crookwell in the south. The area lies within the old Tuena gold-mining district, where gold was worked from the 1850s, and St Fiacre's Catholic Church, opened in 1912, stood near Peelwood Road until it closed in 2012.
