About Central Tilba
Central Tilba is a heritage-listed village at the foot of Mount Dromedary in Eurobodalla, on the New South Wales south coast, about 10 km south-south-west of Narooma. The whole village is classified as a conservation area by the National Trust, with buildings that include the Dromedary Hotel, built in 1895 from timber recycled from ships, and the ABC Cheese Factory, the first co-operative cheese factory in New South Wales, which still operates as a dairy. It grew out of the 19th-century gold rushes on Mount Dromedary, and the district, on Yuin land whose name means many waters, was the setting for the television series River Cottage Australia.
