About Belowra

Belowra is a sparsely settled locality in the valley of the Tuross River, inland from the New South Wales south coast near Nerrigundah. The area was part of the Nerrigundah goldfield, where gold discovered in December 1860 was described as the purest in the colony and drew hundreds of miners within months. Today the valley supports scattered grazing properties.
