About Bonython

Bonython is a suburb of Tuggeranong in southern Canberra, named after Sir John Langdon Bonython, owner of The Advertiser (Adelaide) and a member of Australia's first parliament. Gazetted in 1986 on former grazing land, the suburb was affected by the devastating January 2003 Canberra bushfire. West Bonython, the final residential release, was completed around 2010.
