About Mount Hawthorn
Mount Hawthorn is an inner suburb of Perth, Western Australia, about 5 km north of the CBD, within the City of Vincent. It developed in the early 1900s around a tram line and shops along Scarborough Beach Road and Oxford Street, and today has a lively café strip and many heritage homes. The suburb contains the heritage-listed Anzac Cottage, built in a single day in 1916 to house a returned soldier.
