About Balcatta
Balcatta is a northern suburb of Perth, 18 kilometres from the CBD in the City of Stirling. Its name derives from Aboriginal words meaning 'his hill', and before the 1960s the area was mainly market gardens. It became popular with Southern European migrants, particularly Italian and Macedonian families, and retains a strong multicultural character.
