About Wooroloo

Wooroloo is a town on the outer fringe of the Perth metropolitan region in Western Australia, off Great Eastern Highway in the Shire of Mundaring. It grew around a sawmill and railway stopping place from the 1890s. The town is now best known as the site of two prisons, Wooroloo and Acacia, which occupy a former tuberculosis sanatorium opened in 1915 and later converted to correctional use.
