About Yongala
Yongala is a small historic town in South Australia's Mid North, situated on a high plateau about 11 kilometres southwest of Peterborough. Proclaimed in 1876, it once thrived as a railway prospect before the rail hub went to Peterborough instead. The town holds several records for South Australia's lowest minimum temperatures and retains heritage streetscapes surrounded by open farmland and Flinders Ranges scenery.
