About Wollert
Wollert is a suburb of Melbourne in the City of Whittlesea, about 25 km north of the city centre and bounded by the Merri and Darebin creeks. Its name is a Woiwurrung word meaning "where possums abound". Long a dairying area that supplied milk to Melbourne until the 1960s, it retains churches and a school building dating from the 1870s and is now one of the main residential growth areas in the municipality.
