About Eurobin
Eurobin is a rural locality in the Ovens Valley of north-eastern Victoria, about midway between Myrtleford and Bright. Known as Black Springs until 1870, it developed as a wayside stop during the Buckland Valley gold rush from 1853. The name is thought to come from an Aboriginal word describing a lagoon or watercourse at the foot of the Mount Buffalo plateau. Eurobin is one of the valley's most agriculturally rich areas, long known for hops, tobacco and dairying, and is home to the Rostrevor hop gardens, described as the largest hop farm in the Southern Hemisphere.
