About Kapooka

Kapooka is a suburb in the south-west of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, whose name comes from a Wiradjuri word meaning 'place of winds'. It lies on the Olympic Highway between Wagga Wagga and Uranquinty and is home to Blamey Barracks, where the Australian Army conducts its recruit training.
