About Mount Colah
Mount Colah is an outer residential suburb of Hornsby Shire in New South Wales, located 24 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district. Originally known as Colah, the name was first used by naturalist George Caley to describe a koala in a letter to botanist Sir Joseph Banks. At 206 to 217 metres above sea level it is the second highest suburb in Sydney by elevation. Bounded to the east by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, the Bobbin Head commercial area offers cafes, a marina and boat ramp. Street names in the northern part are themed around Arthurian Legend.
