About Shackleton
Shackleton is a small town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, on the disused railway line between Bruce Rock and Quairading and close to the Salt River. It began as a railway siding when the line opened in 1913 and was gazetted as a town in 1951. The town is known for a former bank that is said to have been Australia's smallest.
