About Nalyerlup

Nalyerlup is a rural locality in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, located about 341 kilometres southeast of Perth and 45 kilometres southeast of Gnowangerup in the Shire of Gnowangerup. Mixed farmland and bushland with Peenebup Creek flowing through the area sits on the traditional land of the Koreng people of the Noongar nation. A key heritage site is Nightwell, a long granite outcrop in Peenebup Creek that was an important indigenous water source where water would rush in through a hole in the granite at night but remain dry during the day, though a surveyor damaged the natural feature with explosives in the 1920s.
