About Moorine Rock
Moorine Rock is a small town in the eastern Wheatbelt of Western Australia, located on the Great Eastern Highway 22 kilometres west of Southern Cross. The town takes its name from a rock formation whose Aboriginal name was adopted by explorer Charles Hunt, who built a well at the natural soak that became a vital stop for prospectors travelling to the goldfields. The surrounding district produces wheat and other cereal crops.
