About Lake Grace

Lake Grace is a town in the eastern Wheatbelt of Western Australia, 345 kilometres south-east of Perth on State Route 107, and the main service town of the Shire of Lake Grace. Land was first selected in 1907, the railway arrived in 1916, and the town takes its name from the two large interconnected salt lakes a few kilometres to its west. Its 1926 Australian Inland Mission hospital, established with the help of Dr John Flynn, survives as a museum, and the town serves the surrounding wheat and sheep farming country.
