About East Ballidu
East Ballidu is a rural locality in the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu of the Wheat Belt region of Western Australia, located about 175 to 181 kilometres northeast of Perth. The landscape features flat to gently undulating terrain with broadacre cropping country and remnant native vegetation. The name Ballidu is a Noongar-English hybrid with balli meaning on this side plus Duli after a nearby rockhole, and the area supports wheat and canola broadacre farming with increasing farm automation reducing the need for on-farm labour and contributing to long-term population decline.
