About Port Denison

Port Denison is a town on the Indian Ocean coast in the Mid West region of Western Australia, about 4 kilometres south-west of Dongara. Gazetted in 1867 and named after Sir William Denison, a former Governor of Tasmania, it developed as the port for the surrounding district. It is the home port for a western rock lobster fishing fleet and hosts one of the state's largest commercial fishing harbours.
