About Nanga

Nanga is the site of a former timber milling town in the Peel region of Western Australia, in the Lane Poole Reserve between Dwellingup and Waroona. The Nanga Mill operated from the early 1900s and was the largest in the area, supporting a townsite with homes, a store, hall and school, until the town was destroyed in the 1961 Western Australian bushfires. The area is now forest reserve popular for camping and picnicking along the Murray River.
